John R. Ostojic was born on July 13, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois. He was first admitted to the Illinois Bar as a practicing attorney in 1985 and has been a member in good standing since that time. Mr. Ostojic obtained his B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1982. Following this, he attended the John Marshall Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 1985.
Mr. Ostojic’s multilingual abilities allow him to connect with a variety of clients and local communities. He speaks Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, Montenegrin, and Slovenian, and is conversant in Macedonian. John also maintains a diverse legal practice, concentrating on personal injury and commercial litigation.
Throughout his professional career, Mr. Ostojic has been an active member of the Society of Trial Attorneys and is a past national president of the Serbian-American Bar Association. He has also served on several local elected bodies, including the DuPage County Regional Board of Education, where he was elected as a trustee for two consecutive six-year terms.
In addition to his local commitments, John has acted as regional trial counsel for an asbestos company and is licensed to practice in Illinois. He has been appointed as lead counsel in several international matters in Europe and Argentina and has served as trial counsel on various criminal matters before the International Court in The Hague in the Netherlands.
Mr. Ostojic is a recipient of the prestigious Czar Dušan Award, reflecting his contributions to the legal field and community. He was a member of the Illinois Society of Trial Lawyers, and is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association, among others.
John is married, a father of two, and a grandfather of three grandchildren. He currently resides with his wife in Hinsdale, Illinois, and spends time in Hollywood, Florida.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, John enjoys golfing, even though he humorously admits he’s not very good at it. He has a passion for thoroughbred horse racing, particularly as an owner at Gulfstream Park, where he has the thrill of competing without being in the saddle. He also follows both college and professional sports and loves to travel, experiencing new places and cultures.
